Awake

Everything went well tonight. There was one instance where Keylan decided he didnt want to breath and his heart rate dropped. This happened all the time with Cayden so as a seasoned vet of the NICU I still jumped out of the chair and ran over. The nurse suctioned out some goop out of his mouth and that stimulated him enough that he remembered he had to breath.

Again this was quite common with Cayden and the nurses also say it is quite common. The nurse said that Keylan, despite the heart rate dropping, is doing really good. The way they treat this issue is to give them a dose of caffeine. I'll take their word. I left Keylan at around midnight and his eyes were wide open because the nurse was changing his diaper. All is well and I will update everybody tomorrow. Keylan gets to meet his Grandpa Jim, Grandpa Dot, and big brother Cayden tomorrow.
